Bloody hell, either the drugs Jethro was taking are a bit strong, or mine are. Is this really suggesting there are good things about England? *Stunned* What has the caring and sharing Jethro done with the <insert you own insults> one?

Teletubbies - In agreement, they suck ass and they suck it hard.

Why d'you like Ian Botham? I know people who've met him, and they say he's an arrogant *****. Not bad at cricket I suppose. I would have taken him out and put Red Dwarf in twice.

Wow...Jethro, using love, and England in the same sentence. I think we should take a picture ;)

#11 should be NO PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS!

Juan

Total agreement with your list.

HarryW

Only in the cricket sense. We got some great banners displayed at our local cricket grounds when the big fella was about. My favourite was "Roll the pitch with Botham".

SteveCRM

All countries have at least a few things worthy about them. Well ok except for Canada.

My favourite thing about England is......

That it's attached to Scotland!

<hides in corner>

Are there any other Scots on these forums?

Fav thing about England would have to be the English Muffinz

Nov 28th, 2000, 10:16 AM
English muffins HAVE to have been invented someplace other
than England....where pepper is an exotic spice. Maybe
Wales? can't be Scotland, they have less taste than the
British.

Errr. DerFarm - the Scots ARE British - They are NOT English!

(Great) Britain is England/Wales and Scotland - The UK includes Northern Ireland - properly The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Anyway, at least we don't eat grits - those slimy potato gruel concoctions are the second worst 'delicacy' known to me. The worst is Andouillette sausage which made me throw up spectacularly in a French Restaurant (in Paris). Mind you, I was back for the pudding:D

My favourite ten things about England

Denise
Luke
Joseph
Emma
Olivia
(That's my wife and four children - not all the time for the last four!)
Living in London
The Isle of Wight (THE Island)
The National Gallery
The BBC
Cadbury's (This woould probably be #1 if the wife approved).

Don't even THINK about starting me on the things I don't like!

Good English beer like Bass from the keg is the greatest thing on earth.

Danger Mouse still bites. I am sorry that I brought him up.

Aren't those friggin' Tellatubbies British too?

King Arthur
Junkyard Wars

Nov 28th, 2000, 05:06 PM
Lovin that sig Katie. Have put it on my website :)

Ok...nuff Dangermouse now (and no Baron Greenback to be seen! :D)

Mmmm...I used to love Stop the Pigeon...

Mutley you snickering floppy eared hound!
When courage is needed, you're never around.
Those medals you wear on your moth-eaten chest,
Should be there for bungling at which you are best!

So stop the pigeon!
Stop the pigeon!
Stop the pigeon!
Stop the pigeon!
Stop the pigeon!
Stop the pigeon!
Stop the pigeon,
Howww?

Nab him!
Jab him!
Tab him!
Grab him!
Stop that pigeon now!

You, silly, stop sneaking it's not worth the chance,
For you'll be returned by the seat of your pants.
And clunk, you invent me a thingamybob,
That catches that pigeon or I lose my job!

So stop the pigeon!
Stop the pigeon!
Stop the pigeon!
Stop the pigeon!
Stop the pigeon!
Stop the pigeon!
Stop the pigeon,
howww?

Nab him!
Jab him!
Tab him!
Grab him!
Stop that pigeon now!

Nov 28th, 2000, 05:23 PM
;) SA!

Wallace and Grommit rock. Am counting down the days till Nick Park's latest epic hits the screens here, (the one about the chickens).

No southern sherry drinking londoner could have come up with that stuff.

Katie

You would love this stuff, search it out at your local video parlour. Have all the tapes at home. Cannot recommend it any more highly.

Ok am dropping fatty botham from my list and replacing with Wallace and Grommit.

Hmmm....David Gemmell should get a mention as well.

P.S

Great new aussie movie "Looking For AliBrandi", recommend it to you all.

Avtually, thinking about it Trumpton (and Camberwick Green/Chigley) were seminal moments in British history. The Clangers and Ivor the Engine were pretty good too.

The Magic Roundabout was just a French infiltration...

Anyone remember FingerMouse/Mary, Mungo and Midge/Mr. Benn?

The 'Tweenies is up there too.

Cheers,

P.

I remember Fingermouse and Mr Benn. Mr Benn was my absolute favourite cartoon when I was a little kid. I saw an episode repeated on telly a while ago, and it's still good :)
