Hello there,
I've nearly finished a product I been working on.
Now this is my first time actually releasing a product.
My aim is to complete it fully and be able to start selling it online.
I'm also making a website for it.
So i was wondering, do need any copyright statements, and what about any Licences.. GNU..??
I dont know where to get them from.. or do i create it...?
Any other policy i should include..?
Please help
Thanx

So i was wondering, do need any copyright statementsA published work is automatically copyrighted in the US (and most other nations), but I'd put one in anyway. (Read http://www.templetons.com/brad/copymyths.html.)and what about any Licences.. GNU..??Do you want to release it under the terms of the GPL? (Are you using any code that's licensed under a public license?)
I dont know where to get them from.. or do i create it...?A copyright is just a statement visible to the user. GPL info is available at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPL and http://www.fsf.org/licensing/licenses/gpl.html.
Any other policy i should include..?That's up to you.

from WikiPedia: "By some measures, the GPL is the single most popular license for free and open source software"
Since this is not free nor its open source.. i guess the GPL Licence wont do..
Any other licence types..? Maybe EULA ? Would that be of good use..
Such as:
You cant: re-sell
re-distribute
reverse engineer
modify
etc....
Im sure i need them to accept the Term & Conditions before continuing install just like any other program.
That loooooong agreement that no one reads and just ticks I Agree and then click on the NEXT button... :D

One very important thing that is mostly overlooked in this type of endeavor it that no matter what agreements and copyrights etc... that you include. If you app does not install clean and uninstall clean and problem free. Your app may not get the welcome you expect. Don't overlook the package and tools that you use. Testing is very important here. Many apps have been sidelined by poor installations.
Choose your package well, One with great support....
