I have DSL, but my goofy service provider decided to make me "dial up"

all it does is talk to the server it's connecting to...

well, what I am wondering, is, can I make this so I don't have to dial up?

I am sure it's possible, but I have no idea how...

BTW, it uses the PPPoE adapter...

Why not have it dial up every time you turn your PC on?

PS: Do you have a firewall? If not...get one or your PC will look like a Swiss cheese ;)

I have:

@Guard
ZoneAlarm

I can get:
Norton Personal Firewall

I haven't tried @guard yet, but ZoneAlarm sucks...

as soon as i installed it, I tried to go to a page in IE, it asked if I wanted to... this was Ok, I was able to go to websites, but when I rebooted, I could not go to any websites, so I uninstalled it.... I've gotta try @guard... I just have to find it(lost in my folder somewhere)

Norton Personal Firewall is a crippled bought-out version of AtGuard.

I use AtGuard and it's wonderful (I can send you a copy if you want)

Crackers care who has a firewall and who doesn't. People who are on for a long period of time really need one, mainly to prevent people from snooping around your PC. They also stop programs on your PC from sending unauthorised information out.
