how to create data report?

hey ppl i m new to Vb..so can anybdy explain me stepwise how to create a data report or plz tell a link where i can know abt creating data reports..

since i ve 2-3 tables in my Db i want to create their report in one data report only..

if you search the forum, youll find thousands of posts dedicated to the data report. no one here is going to give you a step by step on how to do something. but we will help you out on something that isnt working. so try it and youll surprise yourself on what youre able to do.

okkk i m done wid creating data reporet for single table...

but i m not able to able to make data report for multiple tables...

i know this child cmnd nd relation settings..but wen i run my program..
it shows the error ->
"tablename.field not found.."

one more thing i ve tried to look every single thread but m facing problem in creating respective textboxes for fields of different tables...
since i dont know how to use group headers..so i m working rite now by creating textboxes of each single field i want to show in my report..nd tht too in detail section...
so shud i move these textboxes to some other section..or do i need to make any other changes...

also...i dont want to use crystal reports here..plz reply now... :(
