non vb windows question (help!)

This is not a vb question. I have a problem with my computer I've never had before. When I try to open any program it gives me the error, "Cannot find winsvrc.exe" and it says this program is needed to open files of type "Application" I searched the hard drives and the other computer I have and my Windows95 CD and none of them have this winsvrc.exe. Does anyone have any idea what I shoud do or can do? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

All programs say this? Either reinstall win95 or if its Me then system restore. You can also check your file associations to see if something is wrong there.

Yes it is on all programs. I can't even run the setup for Win95 from the CD because I get the same error. What is system restore?

Hi,
try to start setup.exe from the CD directly from DOS. This way windows won't even know that you start it.
If you have to partitions, better copy the whole windows CD on the second partition before you run setup from DOS.

System restore is MICROSOFT's Go BAck in WIN ME...

You can go back to a date in time that the system worked correctly....
