i can login ok, but after a relativly short time i will find i am logged out and have to login again to post.

is there a time out on logins??
if so has it been always been there as don't remember having to do this before, as soon as i opened vbforum it knew who i was.

Can you check your cookie settings in your browser? Check to make sure that you have allowed cookies to be written, because if they have been disabled, your session might be timing out after some period of inactivity.

I noticed that before June 23, you last signed in in February. There had been a change done to the forum software which was causing the same problem you're having.

To solve it, go into your cookies, delete all VBForums cookies, and then sign in again. If you want to be more complete, clear all cookies, then sign in to VBF again and the problem should go away.

That happens to me all the time, and actually, I like it. If I'm not doing anything for a while, I get logged out, but as long as I'm actually responding to, or in some other way, interacting with, the site, I remain logged in.

This won't happen (at least it doesn't for me) if you leave the "Remember Me" checkbox checked.

    Re: login problem

remember me is checked, and sometimes i logged out in the time it took me to do a reply (quite slow).

the problem seems to be resolved today, maybe from following advice from mendhak, though it didn't seem to work when i first deleted all the cookies

Sometimes deleting the Temp Files will help clean things up as well.
