This has turned into a damn court case instead of an election, and some half wit judge in florida is going to tell us who our next president is.

so what happens in january if there is no settlement to this crap? what do we do.. go on without a president?.

When the USA "invaded" Korea, Vietnam, Grenada etc the world was told that the USA is the great upholder of democracy.

Now it would appear that democracy is to be upheld by the outcome of a court case, an appeal against the court case, an appeal against the appeal etc ......... until eventually I suppose the final decision will have to be made by the president - but who is the president?

Here in the UK, with our allegedly antiquated voting system, we can virtually guarantee an accurate result by 6am the following morning.

What the hell is the problem in counting votes? It's pathetic.

And why have we not heard anything for a few weeks about Jeb Bush promising to "deliver Florida"?

Before the so-called election my opinion was that neither Bush nor Gore seemed to be presidential material - it would appear that the American public, especialy Florida, would agree with me.

Hmmm.... according to LA Dave..(an American working with us)...if Gore loses then Hilary Clinton will be the most prominent Democrat. Hilary for the next Democrat candidate?
