Just thought we hadn't really got down to Brass Tacks in the other threads.

Here is the proposition. I'm right, you're all wrong (in varying degrees, of course).

Cheers,

Paul.

both have there appeal as far as I'm concerned.

Are you kidding? Are you off your rocker? That proposition is just plain absurd. It lacks philosophical merit, and is plainly the work of a madman.

I have more credible argument.

Infact, it is myself that is correct, and everyone else is wrong.

Bark, do you know how old kovan is ;-)

No. I wasn't accepting a propositon. I was just supporting the activities! Both have merit...don't you agree???

tumblingdown
Nov 17th, 2000, 10:27 AM
oh, indeed i do. I just thought you were saying you like to catch 'em young ;-)

Teaching is way too much trouble. I would rather practice.

barrk

I'm right and your wrong and no matter how good your point is, if it makes me think and questions my beliefs I'm going to either argue or not return the post!

paulw
Nov 17th, 2000, 10:45 AM
These poorly thought out responses clearly prove my point.

Best proof on these threads, anyways.

Yours omnisciently,

P.

barrk
Nov 17th, 2000, 10:49 AM
When you're right you don't need clearly thought out responses....just reactions.

paulw
Nov 17th, 2000, 10:52 AM
barrk,

I believe we have already proved conclusively that your reactions are just not up to scratch without direct donut infusion. Obviously too much CMM. I will forgive your delusional state just this once.:)

P.

P.S. Twins smiled at me last night (wahey!)

look, people, can we please get back to discussing barrk's sexual habits ;-)

td.

barrk
Nov 17th, 2000, 11:13 AM
Just the thought of me having sexual habits was referred to by Kovan as GROSS in another thread. You see, I'm way to old to be engaging in such things.

Those of you who think you know it all are particularly annoying to those of us who do.

*Chuckle* Barrk, I can tell you one particular friend of mine would have a very different opinion

kovan
Nov 19th, 2000, 12:37 PM
did i really refer to it by GROSS?
i think you misundrestood what i said...
i said since your older than my mom, it would be GROSS to think of it that way considering they idea of just being as old as my mom

oh and another thing is, you are my cybermom so that would be gross :)

o what the hell i dont know what i am talking about

Nov 19th, 2000, 07:41 PM
You don't know what you are talking about.

Now lets face it people, as most of you are North American or English, you could not possibly know anything of any real substance. That is reserved for Aussies and Kiwis. Therefore just take it as gospel that what ever opinion l offer on whatever subject is the correct view point.

Now back to barrk, and the photos can be downloaded from where????????????

kovan
Nov 19th, 2000, 09:29 PM
heheh
jethro stop it, your making me kill myself laughing

did someone say pictures of barrk?

Nov 20th, 2000, 10:10 AM
We have determined that all the above is high-grade BS. As
such, you are hereby directed to cease and desist all such
non-sensical notions, such as the absurd contention that
any of you could have opinions without my permission.

mr fukto what you been smoking?

Nov 20th, 2000, 03:26 PM
Where as you are prepared to debate, a lot of what have to be fundamental christians are totally blinked in their world view. There is no arguement to "the bible is the word of god", they are not prepared to research the emergence of Christianity and christian thought, they just blindly belief what they have been told in their sunday schools or whatever.

Have currently two books on Islam thought and development on order, so will wait until l have read these and get back to you.:)

Nov 20th, 2000, 03:51 PM
Jethro's right, Kovan. Fundamentalist ______ (you fill in
the blank with your favorite absolutist belief system) are
known as "True Believers"....that is, they won't hear
anything different from what they believe.

This does not make them necessarily bad people though
nearly all of historical atrocities have been performed
by persons who were absolutely convinced they were correct
AND right.

You can't argue with Faith, Fools, or Horses.

mr fukto
agreed,
why is it so hard for them to explain their OWN belief
i mean if they weren't contridictions
they would have explained them 20 times already
for ARGUEMENT sake
let say they have no clue how to explain them, and they dont have the knowledge to explain
cant they go to someone that can explain them and bring the explaination and try to convince me and few others?
i mean for god sakes, if you dont know something just admit it
but dont say it is the absolute truth, nothing but the truth, dats final
i personally, if i dont know something i just say so
and if someone wants an asnwer to a question that i dont know, i simply say "i am sorry but i dont know the answer to that.. but i am sure i will get back to you with the answer shortly"

i mean first i got critized for using my own belief system to prove the bible wrong
ok i stopped doing that (even thou i didn't think i was using my own belief)
then i used the BIBLE to prove the bible wrong
then what happens?
VVB goes and turns the issue around, just like what was expected and ignores the issue of those contridictions

but neverless

i think we should go to voting polls soon
on weather i should keep debating or not :)

i have to call a election first thou
hehe

it must have been that "ignorant" comment
hehe
jk
well i am willing to help ya out with anything
just ask
remember
if i dont knwo the answer to somethign i will FIND it for you some how.. i wont ignore the issue (LIKE SOME PEOPLE DO ON THIS FORUM, i wont mention names... *kovan points to VirtuallyVB*)

So it doesn't get any better then barrk?

I found Luke bouncing against the window from the headboard of his brother's bed this morning - I was not happy with him. Mind you, he wasn't too happy with me after I told him off:(

Being a dad is much tougher than anything else I have ever done.

do they make an english quran?

kovan
Nov 21st, 2000, 07:13 AM
only translations in different languages
and when translations are read or used, they are NOT accurate because of the classic arabic used, and some words in the qur'an have no meaning in any other languag
not even all arabs undrestand them
but next best thing is the following page
because it gives you 3 interpertation of the meaning at same time

Qur'an Interpertation of the Meaning In English (http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/)
