I am trying to create a bitmap without displaying
it in a form or something as such.
I just need to create it and draw a few lines according to coordinates I have.
Then I want to save this bitmap to a file.
I am assuming I have to use API calls for this but they are hard to figure out alone.
If anybody has simple sample code for something like this,
It would help me greatly.
Thanks.
Dan.

Check out this example

SavePicture (hDCToPicture(MyDC, 0, Screen.Width / Screen.TwipsPerPixelX, Screen.Height / Screen.TwipsPerPixelY),"C:\myfile.bmp") 'put in you dc there
End Sub
it takes a DC (you can create your own using code below) and turns it into a picture object which you can write to file using the SavePicture Method in VB
Code:
'Create a compatible device context
hDCMemory = CreateCompatibleDC(Me.hDC)
There must be an easier way, though
You can print on this DC using an of the API GDI Functions
for ex. for a line:
Code:
' Draw a line from (0,40) to (100,50) on your DC.
Dim pt As POINTAPI ' needed for another API function
Dim retval As Long ' return value
retval = MoveToEx(hDCMemory, 0, 40, pt) ' set the current point to (0,40)
retval = LineTo(hDCMemory, 100, 50) ' draw a line from current point to (100,50)
