Hi,
I'm selling a piece of software to somone (If they like it) and firstly I need to send a demo app. Apart from plastering my name all over it is there any other way i can protect myself (easily) from them taking this as the full app?
thanks

The best way I can think of is remote validation (assuming you've already obfuscated or took the necessary pre-"hide my code" methods). It seems to make the most sense to me that you have a site they validate through, and also a key. For the full version, you can leave this out (or you can leave it in if you want to have dynamic version control). Either way, the trial version will be able to be controlled from your side (if you want to give an extension or something, you easily can).
It would also make you look alot more credible as a software vendor; rather then hardcoding a date on load and seeing if it's 30 days past. Or worse, using the installation date as your initial date or setting a value in the registry .
