Well, Folks, folkettes, folkers.....

Its THAT WEEKEND once again. When the entire universe
stops what it's doing and watches U of Alabama vs Auburn
University Football.

The most storied sports rivalry in the modern world. The
only football game to be decided by a lightning boltv (Ok,
ok, so I made that up...it COULD have happened).

And I am heartily sick of it. So far I'm 100% -- Both
sides have offered to kick my ass.

I thought that honor went to the USC/UCLA rivalry....at least to hear my Dad go on about it!

Well, what do you expect? He's spaced, too!

Actually, I think the rivalry IS longer than any outside Harvard/Yale...Started in 1887.

We have some DJ's out here named Mark and Brian who originally started in Birmingham . The game is all they can talk about too. I'm sure next week that's all they'll talk about too. Oh well, at least it just once a year!

Being spaced is kind of fun....beats reality all to hell.

Yeah, but being drunk is even better than being spaced... but er... thats what I hear... I have never been drunk, nope not once...

Being spaced doesn't give you a hangover! BTW dennis, check out the sarcasm thread.

Hmm, ever been to a football match in England? (yes I mean real football) There's a pretty strong rivalry between Arsenal/Chelsea/West Ham/Spurs. Or there's Liverpool vs Everton. Man Utd vs Mac City. England Vs Germany's a bit of a grudge match too. Same with Englad vs Scotland.

I've never heard of whatever you're talking about.

My kids all play soccer. We were talking about American football college teams. University of Alabama and Auburn are both Alabama college teams. USC and UCLA are the University of Southern California and UCLA are some other bums from Los Angeles.

No riots or anything nearly as "fun" as soccer games though!

Well one bit of advice: don't ever go to a Millwall match (unless you're a Millwall fan that is). They're the kind of people that throw spanners at the opposing team during the game, and probably at their fans too.

What are spanners?

You don't know what spanners are? Gosh... err... I didn't think there was an American equivalent.... ummm....

They're used to tighten up or loosen bolts.

They look kinda like this:

.___ ___
/_ \_____/ __\
__| _____ |__
\___/ \___/

Looks a lot like a wrench to me! What do I know though?

Yeah I guess it's a wrench :) Nobody calls em wrenches round here though, they're spanners.

hehehe they are lame ;) hehehahahaha

Not as lame as Kevin and Bean here in Los Angeles on radio station KROQ.They are GRADE A *******s too people sometimes hehehehe :) but it's funny anyways ;) but win the big UCLA/USC starts up..oh man those two turn into animals..all they talk about is the rivalry ;)

I still think the L.A. raiders could whip both UCLA/USC at the same time though ( yes i am aware that the raiders are know in oakland but i still refer to them as a LA team ;) )

AH WELL

Lates!

If you want REAL rivalry, you should see Joseph v. Luke in the "I'm going to play with the railway set" fight.

Luke and Joseph are my three and two year old sons:D

Cheers,

P.
