When I rewrote the 'sql query' section from old join syntax to the new ANSI join syntax, my record selection filter is no longer processed on the server, and this makes the report take a very long time to run!

The reason I rewrote the query, was because I was receiving the message: 'the outer join syntax is not permitted'.

Any ideas?

I have this issue in CR IDE and in VB6=
When I change the join syntax, the record selection filter (ie, field = myvalue) is thereafter processed on the client, making sqlserver return a huge amount of rows.
