Hello,
I've been working on a real-time midi sequencer/generator based in VB. So far I have section that creates upto 16 note melodies from 47 scales, and 50 chords. It uses what I like to call, a "variable, non-random, semi-organic equation". Basically it's an equation that flows (hence organic), but isn't truly organic, in that it isn't random. So far I only have two (and I've been searching for what seems like eternity), but I only use one (as the other is a modified form of the original).
There is also a drum sequencer. Basically I'm a BIG fan of Richard James & Tom Jenkinson's work, so I'm tring to expand on it. The sequencer has 8 beats (4 quarters per beat). It also allows you to place a quarter, a string of eighths, a string of sixteenths or a string of 32nds. There is 16 tracks (one per drum sound). The drum sounds are selectable (via note value). And there is also a save and load function. (Oh yeah, all of the timers are not controls, they are free formed functions as to make the timing more precise).
Now that I'm done babbling about my prog, I will get down to what I was wondering in the first place. Is there anybody out there that thinks that they would be interested on working on such a project. Preferably someone who's into creating the same type of music (as that's why I'm writing it in the first place). Basically it's just a personal hobby of mine, so there's no fame or fortune involved. If you want to know more about the prog (sorry it's not available for testing), let me know. I enjoy talking/writing about my stuff.
