Does anyone have a program that will calculate first (and possibly second) dericatives of an imputed function?

Do you mean something on the lines of e.g. Mathematica?

An alternative would be to create a table with values within a useful range and use numerical methods to calculate the derivatives.

that mathematica program seems pretty useful, Ill be sure to check if my school has a license

thats a good idea looking at a table of values, Ill look into that and see what I can come up with
