Bit of a split question here...and as smart as I like to think I am, I'm now at the mercy of those a wee bit smarter.
On my home machine I want to have it php/mysql capable so I can host my own boards. I've done this using html with the obvious limitations and a boring factor or 9.2.
xp sp2, IIS (that comes with is) set up. When I install the php program to the wwwroot folder, I can read php files. But no matter where I install mysql 4 (I have the newest one but it doesn't like phpbb), and try to configure it, php doesnt seem to be able to recognise the fact that there is a database present.
I believe this to be a configuration error but I dont know how to fix it. If someone was willing and able to lend a hand via IM or rdp, it would be greatly appreciated. Entire reason I need to use my own machine is because I do gfx for a few sites and host all of my own work. Even on free sites, bandwidth is murder.
Here's hopin....
edit: Found the tutorial....but not the delete button for this message. :/
