    I have a project that would take user input from a form and use it with a Perl script to 'tailor make' a SVG graphic to display to the user. (I have done something similar with VB to create a DXF file).
    Does anyone have any experience with this, or any comments?

    Got it to work, but important the declaration needs to be :

    Content-type:image/svg-xml\n\n

    as the first line of the SVG document.

    Thought it might be useful to someone else.
