???????????
My goodness can't we talk about anything else?????
Whatever happened to talking about beer???
Even the yank bashing (or seppos or soapies) was better than the self-righteous dribble that's been going on in this forum lately?
I need some mindless dribble!!! Where are the humorous, witty and general smart-ass threads?

So how bout them yankees ;)
barrk
Nov 14th, 2000, 01:28 PM
That IS definitely mindless dribble all right! I said yanks, not yankees. You can be proud of being a yankee since October but since November being a yank is an embarrassment.
jdavison
Nov 14th, 2000, 01:31 PM
Mindless dribble it was but what does baseball have to do with being a yank :) ("how bout them yankees" is a old joke to indicate that a change of subject is needed, the yankees are a baseball team)

No sh*t sherlock....that's another old expression.

Well you never know what you non-yanks know of us yanks since you probably don't pay much attention to our mindless drible
will you two stop bitching at each other?
thats my job....

I'm as American as you can get buddy! I live on an Air Force base and probably have a better feel for what's going on in our nation than most.
That being said.....back to the mindless dribble!

A compliment actually. Some of my best friends are smart-asses. Doing it well is an art!

That's being done in just about every other thread on this forum today.
We only want mindless dribble on this thread so....dribble on!

make up your mind, first you say you want mindless dribble and then you're not happy that my ideas are unoriginal.
Ok, my opinion.....
Sam is smart....
and of course there are always more people oposing rather then siding with the beleif... so... lets wage this "War"...

Nov 14th, 2000, 02:02 PM
Most smart-asses are smart but not all smart people are smart-asses....can you explain this????
of course.... if you are a smart-ass, most likely you think a lot, and very quickly, else people wouldn't call you a smart-ass..
but a lot of smart people, are very serious, and don't like to be thought of as a smart-ass, because it's unprofessional.....
or something... I could never not be a smart-ass... so.. I can't explain #2 so well...
barrk
Nov 14th, 2000, 02:15 PM
I think this proves that Sam is both smart and a smart-ass. But you're still the prince of smart-assness(new word, how do you like it?)
well, actually, you don't have to say "smart and a smart ass"
because, when you say smart-ass, you are saying that the person is acting like an ass, but cleverly....
hence, smart-ass...
damnit, why does everybody stop talking when I say something?
barrk
Nov 14th, 2000, 02:45 PM
I had to go get lunch...I'm back now and you're still a smart-ass.

Unfortunately my life doesn't get to start until 4:00 pm on Fridays which is 7pm on the east coast. On the other hand I don't come in until 7am on Monday and you guys are already hard at work while I'm snoozing....my point was it gets dull around 2pm my time on Fridays.

I'll look at it when I get home. Big brother watches from time to time and from the banner ad on the top for ***** enlargement...it might not be a good thing for me to be checking out at work.
Thanks for the thought anyway!

Good Morning Paul. How's it going? I am trying to prepare myself for a day of CMM. All us developers get to sit in a room and have a non-programmer instruct us in modeling, developing and documenting code. Doesn't that sound like fun???? I'm on my third cup of coffee and I will still probably fall asleep.
HarryW
Nov 15th, 2000, 09:54 AM
You'll get to ***** and moan about it afterwards though - bonus!
Isn't that stupid? To have a non-programmer planning things?
Though I've heard even worse...But now it doesn't come to my mind :)
paulw
Nov 15th, 2000, 10:24 AM
hey, barrk,
Going well, but look on the bright side - you could be stuck in a dead-end job you hate so much that you spend all day on VB-World (now who could that be?)
What is CMM, btw?
Cheers,
P.
barrk
Nov 15th, 2000, 03:02 PM
CMM stands for Capability Maturity Model. It means document, document, document, measure, make-up excuses, document again, re-measure, validate measurements, document...certify that you measured, documented and validated. Go home and have a beer!
Oh, and if you have time...write some code.
Only the American Military would use something as anally retentive as the CMM....I've sat through CMM sessions, and apart from being hugely boring, they appear to be singularly useless....hope it wasn't too unbearable barrk.

It's not fair, we hardly ever get doughnuts with our coffee over here *Sobs*

At least there is no religious bickering in this thread - mind you I could conceive of a bit of barrk worship - DON'T GO THERE, DON'T GO THERE...
Paul gratefully sinks back and contemplates doughnuts (NOT donuts, you lazy spelling Yanks, you).
Cheers,

HarryW

Actually that's something that came as a big surprise - the use of 'doughnuts' instead of 'donuts'... what's going on? A yank spelling revolution?

I am only 41 and not to toot my own horn or anything but....I'm 5'3" tall and weight 110lbs. I am in very good shape physically. The little boys around here all try to hit on me until they figure out that I'm wiser than they will ever be at my age.
So......I'd say you are all barrking up the wrong tree!!!!!!!
barrk
Nov 16th, 2000, 02:45 PM
I've found that most Americans are familiar with the proper way to spell and speak. When they type, they do tend to get lazy though.
I like spelling it like "donuts"
once I spelled it the other way.. I am a little dyslexic, so I didn't notic the U and the H was missing, and well, it caused quite a bit of fuss...
