Need help ** URGENTLY **
I've got a report all set up and ready to go.
I just want to make it point to ESTATES (live) database rather than ESTATES_TEST (test) database.
I assumed this would be a quick 5 second thing.
Now it seems I am losing all my formatting, my parameter fields and god knows what else !!!
I went into "Database Expert" and created a new conenction, then removed the tables from the right and moce over the same ones from the live d/b. I thought this would have been sufficient.
Apart from having to save at this point or it crashes as soon as I try to go into a sub-report, it has made my morning a nightmare !!!
HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crystal Reports??
What method are you using to access the database (OLEDB, ODBC, Native Driver)?
Are the tables in the two databases exactly the same? If they are then no problem, the SQL statement generated by Crystal will work against which ever server you login to. IE, there may be no need to change a thing.
You might want to check out the Database -> Set Location menu item.

ha ha ha ! Thanks Bruce.
So much for flagging my thread as urgent (thats not aimed at you by the way).
I got there in the end, although I was surprised to learn that not only do you change the database, but you have to use the process to change every table/view used as well.
You would have thought changing things at database level would have been sufficient, especially as one is a mirror of the other so therefore no differences in structure.
Still .... you live you learn.
I'm living ... and I've learnt I hate Crystal Reports
But I hate year end much much much more !!!!!!
Thanks for the reply
