what kind of hardware interfacing you are looking for...

In VB4 we had Peek and Poke. With those you could read or write to any memory or I/O location. I used to play in the area from 300h to 31Fh. BUT it was really easy to trigger the floppy drive if I missed a relative address :)

VB6 on the other hand cannot. There are ActiveX OCX's that can directly read or alter the info from memory or I/O. Register them on your project and away you go.

PCI has a lot more complex timing and address resolution than the old style boards. But there is plenty of tutorials out here on the web. Just gotta search a bit.
