    Question

    I have a url that is story in a string when it is extracted from a webpage. I was wondering how I could click this string(url is stored in it) and add code to minimize the explorer window it creates.

    You can't click string because they don't have a click event . But you could put the string into a label or something. And when you say, "add code to minimize the explorer window it creates." Do you mean, you are referencing it? As like:

    Dim ie As New InternetExplorer
    ie...

    ??

    Do you mean you have the URL in a label? since strings can't be clicked on, they are a datatype.

    if you use a label, say label1 you can use shellexecute api to open the explorer window minimized:
    Code:
    Private Declare Function ShellExecute Lib "shell32.dll" Alias "ShellExecuteA" (ByVal hwnd As Long, ByVal lpOperation As String, ByVal lpFile As String, ByVal lpParameters As String, ByVal lpDirectory As String, ByVal nShowCmd As Long) As Long

    Public Const SW_SHOWMINIMIZED = 2
    Private Sub Label1_Click()
      ShellExecute 0, "open", label1.caption, "", App.Path, SW_SHOWMINIMIZED
    End sub
    Use
    writing software in C++ is like driving rivets into steel beam with a toothpick.
    writing haskell makes your life easier:
    reverse (p (6*9)) where p x|x==0=""|True=chr (48+z): p y where (y,z)=divMod x 13
    To throw away OOP for low level languages is myopia, to keep OOP is hyperopia. To throw away OOP for a high level language is insight.
