hmm hehe after all those thoughts you had on "muslim" women
i actually was reading this article
and came across the following reference


“And they (women) have rights (over their husbands) similar (to those of their husbands) over them to what is reasonable” [al-Baqarah 2:228]

by the way, this was revealed 1400 years ago, and they have the same rights ACCORDING to ISLAM, today :)

Hmm, I don't like that word 'revealed'. 'Said' or 'written' maybe.

....to say on killing, turning the other check. But hasn't stopped christians getting it on.

Therefore my arguement still stands in regards to the majority of muslim countries. A religon is viewed not by its texts etc but by the behaviour of its followers.

Jethro - So because hitler(according to history i read)
was a christian, and killed so many jews
does that mean Christianity says kill anyone that is not christian...?

i dont think one should judge a religion by how people of that religion act

like i said those countries are NOT using islam
they are abusing islam
and its ALL CULTURE
so people say they are believers
but use their culture triditions for many things

and i agree that a religion is not viewed by its TEXT
and this is a major problem, because if something goes wrong, everyone blames religion (where they never used religiion to began with)
