What is the best HTML editor (as in Dreamweaver 3, Hot Metal Pro 6, etc.) out on the web? (Preferrably free, but doesn't have to be)

I'd have to say Notepad is the best ever... j/k :D

Personally, Dreamweaver seems to be on top, and I think it's great. It's not free, but you can download a time-limited version from Macromedia...and a <ahem> crack elsewhere ;).

The editor I use, not that I do much with webpages, I did, but it's boring.
In school, for two classes, have to do to webpages :( (any volunteers? Hehe..jus' kiddin')

But I like EvrSoft's 1stPage2000 (http://www.evrsoft.com/) which contains a lot and it's free!
I just like it more than any other editor. I tried Dreamweaver 3, which isn't free, but they give a trial, I just didn't care for it.

I have used many many many HTML editors..

Allaire HomeSite - I really like this one, it's like a mix between front page and dreamweaver.

Front Page - The editor sucks, but the way it organizes the pages (Called "Webs") is pretty good.

Dream Weaver - I had a copy of Dream Weaver 2, I didn't like it at all, it didn't format anything right, what i mean, is if I had +3 (size) orange font, and I hit return, I had to reset the font to orange, size 3. this may have been fixed it version 3, or it could have been the fact that my version wasn't exactly trial, or paid for..

Arachnophilia - (Available at download.com) - this HTML editor is awesome, and free, it edits HTML, C++, Perl, CGI, Java, RTF, and Text. It has lots of toolbars, it isn't very colorful or loaded with pictures(the GUI), but it's easy to use, and the color coding(for the code) is very good. and thats all I have to say about this, but I recomend this free HTML editor. this editor is not WYSIWIG

I have used many other ones, but those are by far, the best.

Personally, I use Dreamweaver Ultradev. It is fantastic, but writes really **** ASP code.

I've been using Frontpage, Dreamweaver and Homesite 4.0 and I think that homesite 4.0 is by far the best.
