hello everyone

i created a new software in VB
and i am trying to sell them

If people buy a software and install in their computer which has internet
can i get a intimation in my system giving me the number of systems which have installed my software


please guide me

That is difficult. But you can count number of times they installed.

At the same time, you can restrict the number of instance/usage of your software in a network to avoid multiple usage.

Like if your client buy 5 licences they should use only on 5 machines nothing more than that. So, whenever you execute your software it should check other existance of your application in network and find out the number of instances and unload your application if there are any unlicenced copy of software is running.

And if they don't have an internet connection... - it's not a good idea to exclude them. The best you can do is ask all users to register, and offer support to those that do. If they don't want to then it's their choice. Beware of your software getting the reputation of spyware. Sony tried this and are now facing legal class actions in the US...
