    Cool

    Im looking for a project somewhere that can read and write music (as in real written music with quarter notes and half notes) and convert it to a wav or midi file. I cant find one anywhere. Has anyone come across some source code?

    If you ever find it please email me the information as to what and where. I've heard of it but have never come across it. Perhaps it was just someone stringing me along...pardon the pun.

    You might find a good tracker if you search for fasttracker, impulse tracker, extreme tracker, soundtracker, noisetracker... The music formats are called .xm .mod .it .s3m .669 ...
    well and there should be decoders everywhere, i think winamp does it too

    writing haskell makes your life easier:
    reverse (p (6*9)) where p x|x==0=""|True=chr (48+z): p y where (y,z)=divMod x 13
