When you usualy search for "noteme" on google or alexa, my page has usualy been numer 1 to 3. But after this weeken, I can't even find my web page there. Anyone know why something like this can happen?

I read about BMW getting tossed off google for tricking the system. I havn't tried to do anything like this. But I am still not there, no mail either. Any ideas?

Still number one on most other serach pages though...:(

I googled noteme.com and it came up.Ohhhh....I think the fact that is user name came up is still pretty cool though.

Anyway, I got the same thing Rob did...

Note, I think it is that Norwegian Google that you are using that just isn't doing the job. :D

Yes I am talking about my web page. And yes if you do noteme.com then you get me...but then there isn't much competition either. If you do just "noteme" then you have 16k hits...and I used to be on the top, or at least 2 or 3. Now I am 65 or something. ANd that is not www.noteme.com as it used to, but just noteme.com.

If you do a "Searchwithin results" for noteme.com after a noteme search you will get 161 hits. So it is in there but where?

RobDog888

I guess the search results is different from country to country. Can you RobDog and Hack do a screen shot of what you found. So I can be sure it is www.Noteme.com and see what page it is on?

I have seen that I am getting much more hits from arabic countries these days, then anything else. I really don't hope that it is because of the muhammed drawings. I just read that about 450pages is hacked a day in Denmark now. And they assume it is because of the drawings since they leave religion related messages on the index page.

I guess it is just google.no that doesn't show it up anymore then....but this still doesn't explain how I can go from 1 to 40+ over the weekend...:(

Can't see it in google.fi either. Though I can find my own homepage in the first page when looking for my own nick in .com and .fi, I don't know when this change happened. Over the weekend...?

PageRank Checker (http://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php)

noteme.com has a rank of 0
www.noteme.com has a rank of 2

merri.net has a rank of 5
www.merri.net has a rank of 5

vbforums.com has a rank of 5
www.vbforums.com has a rank of 6

You sure you haven't been trying to fool Google? Or maybe someone has been nasty and has done a little trick to drop you off?

NoteMe
Feb 8th, 2006, 07:18 AM
On my firefox page range checker it says:

6 www.vbforums.com
3 vbforums.com

0 noteme.com
2 www.noteme.com

but then again. I can find noteme.com but not www.noteme.com on the list.

And no I have not tried to trck them. And if I did. Don't you think they would have sendt an e-mail? As I said, I checked every mail I have to find something...nothing.

And what I am affraid of is that some hacking has happend. As I said 450pages day is hacked in Denmark right now because of the mohammed pictures. So why not Norway too...

My sites all have a zero page rank. Bloody content accept type detection.

Although, they have all moved around a lot. Pages that weren't there before now are. Maybe Google were mucking around with it the indexing, I dunno.

I wonder if Google has changed its alogorithums for rankings? My Word Spellchecker™ is #2 and #18 for VB.NET and VB6 respectively when it has fallen way down to #30+ on google when it used to be #2 and #3. :(

well page rankings change all the time.. maybe people have just been visiting other sites using the same keywords or something... not like the ranking is static... either that or these darn site harvesters have found some ways to flood the results with their site links instead, drawing in the weak-minded, thus boosting their own page ranks...

Linking to any "penalized" sites???

"Not all links are counted by Google. For instance, they filter out links from known link farms. Some links can cause a site to be penalized by Google. They rightly figure that webmasters cannot control which sites link to their sites, but they can control which sites they link out to. For this reason, links into a site cannot harm the site, but links from a site can be harmful if they link to penalized sites. So be careful which sites you link to. If a site has PR0, it is usually a penalty, and it would be unwise to link to it."

http://www.webworkshop.net/pagerank.html

That explains the page ranking in FULL detail...

Although, they have all moved around a lot. Pages that weren't there before now are. Maybe Google were mucking around with it the indexing, I dunno.

No, moving pages doesn't effect. I have been "Google friendly" since I opened my first bigger site in the year 2000. My sites have always been ranked in high positions with various different keywords. I think at first when I made my site I just happened to make it somewhat right and onwards I kept reading about SEO stuff and applied knowledge over time. I think none of my sites has a ranking below 3. None of them has ever lost their ranking due to major updates or page moving, I've even managed to keep the ranking flowing from different domain urls to another: I have moved the first big site two times and each of the urls the site has been in has the same rank of 5.

Google also adds my sites to its index very quickly, for example, mozilla.fi was in the index in high positions within two days after the site was opened. It now has a rank of 7, so it is doing real well and I seem to be doing good work making my new sites even friendlier to Google :)

I don't think there is anything mystical into it and I surely have no special connections to Google. I guess you have a real big problem if one of your sites gets a rank of 0: if you link to your other sites, they get a lower ranking as well. I've never had a site with a low rank so that has helped me.

But I still find it weird.

- Not tried to trck them.
- Ranking is unchanged (even if it always have been low)
- Googlebot crawls my site more and more every month.

Just look here for last month:

Why would it care to come to my site that often if it doesn't even want me in it's search..:)

From awast, which I can find in my cPanel, which is installed on the server I am hosting web space. Great fun...I can even see that wossys Ascii drawing got 100uniqe hits yesterday..:)

And I can also see that Fx is gaining ground, and Linux is going nowhere..:)
