Thought I would start a new thread here with a twist :p . In only an hour or so of using this Opera browser (just downloaded for the first time), I am growing quite fond of it. I was on the Firefox bandwagon for the longest, but after downloading this and playing around with it for a few minutes, I am getting hooked. Nice interface, zippy (even on my slow dialup), and I like how it fills in the page. Since on dialup, I have plenty of time to sit and watch the page fill in, images load, etc. Its preeeety in Opera :p
If you haven't tried it out, do so. Its a measly little 3.66 MB download...

So lets add Opera into the mix... for a little fun... or not... let the bashing begin... or not begin... depending if people are tired of the other "FireFox vs IE" thread...

As you are on a dial-up and using opera for first time, here is a tip :
Opera has a feature called "Show Cached Images Only". It accessible from View toolbar. See the button with a baby's face.
When you visit a site for first time, use "Show All Images". After that use "cached Images Only". Opera will not download those images again and will show them from cache. This will speedup page loading.
You can set it as default from Tools>Preferences>Web Pages>Images
Also, Check the Tools>Preferences>Advanced tab for more features.
Another thing I like in Opera is the quick switching between 'User Mode' and 'Author Mode'.
And it's download maneger is much better that Fx. ;)

Nice... I set it to always show cached, which gives the placeholders, and when I need to view the images, just click on it to show em :)

Opera is the best hands down. It's faster, has a smaller footprint than Firefox and IE, and is very stadnards compliant. Plus, it's innovative. I have yet to find someone who knows a lot about browsers and claimed Firefox or IE invented something. Almost always, they say Opera had it first.
Opera was the first to have tabs
First to have mouse gestures
many more features as well.
The email client is awesome, Opera 9 Preview 2 has some awesome widget support and the tab thumbnail preview is friggin awesome.
There is no way I could live with only Firefox or IE. I'm all Opera :D

I don't like the widget feature. I will like it as firefox extension (embedded).
Also, currently it is full of bug.
