Can create a DUN connection where you just dial up without to the service with username/password/number without ever having to open up the program itself? Never used Altavista's free internet.

Have you noticed it to theman32x? I used to be able to log on using their encryption name/pw method. Now, it won't work no more. It just sits there and freezes. The only thing it works for is games which is cool.
But it sucks. I can't even log on to the program they provide. Freezes/crashes and that's it.
But freeinternet.com is still good.
Well, Steve..I see you asked this question in a new thread, but I'm just going to stay in this one. Unfortunately, as theman32x said, you can't do it. But if you were to..go to My Computer > Dial-Up Networking Connections > Make New Connection > .....
Get a new free isp. Hehe...we may use modem's now guys, but someday, we will get cable/t1/t3/etc. and we will rule the Internet World!

freei works for u too matt?
it used to work for me but all of a sudden something strange happens ...
like i connect with the DUN but i can't do anything ... i can't surf the web or even go on AIM ...
it's the strangest thing i've seen
oh steve ... there is a way to kinda move the banner ... someone brought that up a while ago and matthew was very helpful in helping with the problem ...
you have to get the handle of the program and then you can minimize the banner !!
n since it was matthew's example he can explain it better than i can

Ok, let's see, where shall I start ...
freeinternet works well for me when I want to surf the web. I mean, my original service providor is AOL which my sister hogs and is on about 20/7. I did use Netzero (without the banner) but somehow, they know, they just can't do anything so you can't navigate to any websites. But Netzero does work for the games I play. Which is good enough for me. And I use freeinternet.com to surf the web along with AOL sometimes. It sucks, I knew it wasn't going to last forever. Lasted a while though.
Someone did ask this a while ago. Turned into a real topic, about 60 posts.
But Steve, I know you are smart enough to know how to find the handle of a window. I hope you know...since you can make games and stuff. Use the FindWindow and ShowWindow api functions to do it and a Window Spy may help. It may not work, some of these programs detect everything. It's pretty neat. I hate what Netzero does, it lags you so much because it's checking itself every second to see whether it's minimized/maximized, where it is, if it's on top of everything, etc. etc. And sometimes, even when it's on top, it says that you are trying to hide it and then it closes and disconnects.
You get what you pay for .
Free = Crap
Paying = Half decent
There are some things that are free that are nice though. Ones that don't have a banner and stuff.
The only good thing I'm getting for free right now, is cable T.V. and it's worth it
Good luck Steve, I'm always looking for new free isps as well. Not to many good ones, but can't afford everything. Earthlink is said to be good, but I'm sure it freezes sometimes.

check out the setwindowpos api. It will move the window. To move the window off the screen (guranteed on any resolution) move it to -1280,-1024

you can minimize altavista steve ...
however, the last time i tried it was a while ago ...
so i don't know if they caught on or not ...
oh n altavista have lots of handles since it is different sections in one ...
get the handle of the most left side of the program ...
that's the one that works ... if i remember i think it was 38946 or something like that
good luck

Not quite...A T3 transfers roughly at 44.7 Mbps.
