ADD ALL THE NUMBERS.

I know it's not 11 i think there are roman numerals in it ,
So i need the total of all numbers combined

Or if, in this ridiculous puzzle, you mean "filter out all the letter combinations which could be interpreted as Roman Numerals and add them up, then you get 2616, not including the "ADD ALL NUMBERS" bit. ID does not count as 499, because that is not how 499 is written.

I get 4725....

TOTAL = 4725

Funny thing is... add 11 (total you get by doing it word by word left-to-right, 1+5-6+22/2) to that and you get 4736, 36 being the total you get by adding up all of the text numbers printed (one + five + six + twenty-two + two)... is that coincidence?

And add 4736 numbers up (4 + 7 + 3 + 6), you get 20, the number of total syllables in the riddle (4 lines of 5 syllables each = 20 syllables)

Add 36 to 4736 (in order to add up ALL the possible values), since before we just added 11, you get (4725 + 11 + 36) which equals 4772. Adding those four digits up, you also get 20 (4 + 7 + 7 + 2)...

So maybe the supreme answer is.... 20... :p

**EDIT - Also note that you can get 20 if you use put in a few order of operations... like below:
(1 + 5 - 6) + 20(2 / 2) = 20... of course I was trying to make 20 some way out of that... since 20 seems to be a recurring theme :bigyello:

...although in the sentence there are some "IV" concatenations ("fIVe", for example) which could be read as 1 + 5 or as 4...

What sort of a puzzle is it anyway which doesn't even give you clear instructions?

Just to make it worse, here's another answer :eek:

Doing it the simple way:

ONE PLUS FIVE
= 6

MINUS SIX
= 0

PLUS TWENTY TWO
= 22

DIVIDED BY TWO
= 11

ADD ALL THE NUMBERS.
= 1 + 1 = 2

I think that by "numbers" they mean Syllables, because it is strange that all 4 lines have exactly 5 syllables. Think they actually put in text numbers to throw you off, yet, when you actually work it out (in my example above), you also get numbers equal to 20. So Im sticking with my answer :) It is 20.. grrrrrrrrrr hehehe

I followed that link I posted earlier to that maths forum, and the lady had mentioned how the answer was 5800... anyone care to see how that is possible?
