query regarding com and vb

hi everyone ,
I was completely new to this forum.

I had a small query regarding com and VB.
i need to write a service in COM which could be able to send and receive text documents(files).
I want it to do in VB 6.0.
I am very much new to this server and had a little knowledge in VB.
can i do that?
if i can, give me suggestions and any reference sites.
pls anyone help me in this issue.
