MDAC 2.6

Hi,

I have installed MDAC 2.6 ( I had 2.5 with service pack 1 ) and now my vb application crashes all the time. When my connection object opens it gives me error -2147418113 Unexpected failure , i Click ok to that error then I get GPF and that GPF error msg won't go even if I say close. I did not change reference to 2.6 active x object library yet. Still I reference it to 2.5. I am stuck I can not run my VB apps.

Any help is appreciated.

my first rule of tumb: never use anything that came out 3 days ago! let it be there for a while and let other people find out the bugs!

if i were you i would go back to mdac 2.5, btw i still use 2.1 and works great for me, i don't know why u need 2.6?!?

Hmm... I was reading on the Microsoft website a few days ago that MDAC 2.6 is a special "SQL Server" based edition of MDAC and does not include MS Jet or any of the Access dependent files. If you're trying to run an app that uses an Access database, that's likely the problem. You can fix it by downloading and installing the MS Jet runtime separately, or, as suggested, re-installing MDAC 2.5.
