Anyone know of any freeware for editing mp3 file tags? It should be something like placing the same stuff (album, title, author, artist, etc) in a large bunch of files, like you have when making mp3 tracks from an opera CD. Then it should allow to automatically increase the track number for every file.

I know this shouldn't be too difficult but I'm too lazy to start making my own app if there's something out there.

windows media player allows this.... select all the tracks you want (shift-click), then right click one of the fields you wish to edit... the value you put in goes in all the ones you selected...

I have WMP 7.01 but I'm not too familiar with it. I just can't see how I can get the fields displayed. If I right click on a track and select properties the fields are displayed but they are not editable.

Interesting, but the thing is it doesn't support group editing.
