What's your favorite webhost?
Introduction:
Hi, I made a website that offers a huge collection of go-kifu's (40 000 records of played games of an asian boardgame.) There exist a lot of websites like this already but mine has some options never seen before. Like some statistic correlations that are very interesting. I'm a pretty experienced player myself and I've been using it myself for a long time and it helped me a lot to improve so far.
Since 7/december the .EU domain names are being registred. For consuments like myself I'll have to wait till april ofcourse. But all this talking about those domain names made me come up with the idea to put the whole thing online on a webserver to show it to some friends that also play the game. So that they can use it as well.
To make it all a bit more interesting I have build a PHPBB forum around it that allows people to register and place comments and questions on the moves . I wrote a lot of additional php classes, made some additions to the lay-out. Wrote some javascript. It looks pretty nice at the moment. So I would like to put it online as a "beta". Next improve it a bit and make a first release in April.
Main Question:
So now I'm seeking a good php webhost. Finding php webspace isn't that hard. But the fact is, most free servers are terribly slow. And some show a lot of advertisement. In the past I found some really good free servers but always after a couple of months they started showing adds and became a lot slower too. With payed servers I have no experience at all.
Ofcourse this question has been asked a 1000nd times before. And it's pretty easy to google for webspace. I did do that, but often the information is outdated and of course I trust you guys more than I trust some website written by somebody that might be working for some webspace provider himself!
Does anybody have some really good experiences with some webspace provider? Either Free Or Payed... That has at least the following: PHP, MySQL, FTP, No Advertisement. Also how much do you pay/month and how long have you been using it? (Do you also own a domain?)
Thanks in advance.

Hi.
I've used this webhost for the longest time. They have alot of perks.
Servage.net
There cheap. You get lots of space and bandwidth.
Every few days your space grows. Started at 25000 MB (25gig)and now am at 25288 MB.
Also if you refer people you get credit towards next payment. You will recieve more space for each referal aswell as the person you refer will get more space.
Just think. 1 referal a month equals free hosting for that month + more space.
Web features
- 25000 MB. Web Space [?] - 510 GB Transfer [?]
- Unlimited FTP Accounts [?] - FTP Access [?]
- Unlimited MySQL Databases (v5) [?] - SFTP (Encrypted FTP)

Hi
I would recomment phpwebhosting. They are who I use and they are very good. Only 9.95 a month they give you unlimited email addresses and 250 megs of space. You can just ask them for more, and as long as your not useing the space for anything that goes against thier agreement, they will give it to you.
I design websites for people so I needed space to host thiers on my site so they can see it before it goes live and I needed more space, I am up to 500 megs, which I have yet to reach.
Plus they support pretty much all the languages, especially php.

Thank you both PlaGuE and neicedover1982. Both hosts look great.
About Servage.net I have 2 more questions though:

1) A free domain... I suppose that means free startup costs? Or does that really include all domain name costs?
2) Could you give me an URL of a website that runs on a servage.net server?
Thank you once again!

This remark was because of the fact that i gain space as time goes on.
I have never had anyproblems with them. I personally spent a month searching for the right webhost.
I emailed them with some questions. And it was not automated. They were very helpful.
