    Creating your own .ext

    A friend recently wondered if he could create his own [dot]ext for his program.

    ie You.who

    lol...

    is it possible?

    You can name your files whatever you want, except for some that have special meaning to Windows: exe, com, bat, cmd. All others (including DLLs) are free game.

    I know i can name them anything...

    but what he wants to do is.

    have blah.dk open up like a exe would.

    He seen a program he downloaded a while back have .cd and it opened like anyother .exe would.

    You can associate file extensions with applications, like Word does with .doc. Is that what you mean?
    If so, open the Registry Editor and look at how HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT does it.
