Lost my Taskbar

Please help me. I have lost my taskbar and i cant get it back. When i press the Windows Key my start menu apears in top left of the screen. I have got a screen shot. I have NOT unlocked it and resized it down.
Info:
Windows XP Home Edition
Laptop
512MB DDR Ram
2 Ghrz Proscessor
This only happened when i connected my laptop to a mates Computer but i am still running a Virus Scan.

go to control panel ->taskbar and start menu and check whether you have enabled autohide option.

I checked all of that but i couldnt be bothered to actualy fix it. I have restored my laptop now and it was not that much of a pain restoring it. only too less then 20 mins. I copied all my documents to the other partitian on my laptop. Dont know what caused it to do this but it does not matter any more. Thanks for the help any way.
