[RESOLVED] to remove any adreses from the browser
Hi,
does anyone know how to modify and delete any "single" line from the browser ..
The only way I can do this is to go TOOLS/INTERNET OPTIONS/DELETE FILES/
But this deletes everything...whereas I only want to delete unwanted lines/adresses which I wrote by mistake....for example I have this long adress in my browser(adress bar)....
//http://www.vbforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1&page=2&sort=lastpost&order=&pp=40&daysprune=2"
Thanks

Re: to remove any adreses from the browser
you mean deleting previously typed addresses? you can do that in internet explorer-> tools--> internet options then on the first page there should be a bunch of buttons that say clear history and a bunch of other stuff clear all those and thay should do the trick

Re: to remove any adreses from the browser
did you manage to clear only the one address or did you clear all addresses?
if you still want to know a way to clear only one address you can change the registery key using regedit. the key is "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs" and you can delete what ever address it is.

you can change millions of things in the registry. i found that one whilst playing around with the internet explorer title.

with genius lol. just put IMG tags in your post. there is a little icon on the reply page inbetween the list icon and the hyperlink icon.

Re: to remove any adreses from the browser
the only flaw i can find in this way to change the history is that say you had several registry items in the typedURLS key like this:
url1 - http://www.google.com/
url2 - http://froogle.google.com/
url3 - http://www.doogle.org/
and you wanted to remove froogle to put your perants off of what you bought them for xmas. if you dont either put another address in url2 or change url3 to now be url2 then msie will not think that there is anything past url1. sorry i didnt tell you this earlier but i only just found out when trying it out again. earlier i only tested it on the last address and for some reason you post did not show up untill four hours later or i missed it every time

Simple fix would be to edit it, and change it to google.com or something.
or even just blank space..

Re: to remove any adreses from the browser
yeah but then if you kept doing that then your whole list would be populated with blank urls. what i dont get is why would you want to clear your history in the first place? you could just move the last url in the list that you want to keep and rename it to the url you are deleting so then you would not have loads of blank urls in there.

Re: to remove any adreses from the browser
Delete them all, and replace them, one by one, with items in your list file.
They might wonder why you keep visiting the exact same 20 links, but they won't be able to see the deleted ones.

Re: to remove any adreses from the browser
Hi, dandono,
where should I write "vb code" to?
The reply that says " Simple fix would be to edit it, and change it to google.com or something.

is a reasonable one so I mark my post as "RESOLVED"
thanks and happy new year to you all
