I have a Quicktime movie that I would like to place on my website. What options do I have when it comes to putting it up there. And how do I do it, do I just put place a link to the location of the file or do I need to do something special. What I would like is to give the users a way to either view it right away or download it.

Also the orginal file is 10mb big, is there any way of making it smaller without cutting the length of the movie? What are my options for this one also.

Thanks to all that reply.

Just put a link to the file and tell them to right click the link if they'd like to save the file, otherwise click to view it. :)

Pc_Madness,

I see so it is just like a basic link and thats it. I have never put anything like this on my site and I thought that it was more involved, but I guess its not.

thanks

If you want to have the video on a webpage so that the user can stop and pause it while reading whatever else is on the page, then it can be alittle more involved, otherwise easy. :)

Pc_Madness,

What do you mean more involved. Currently I just threw it up there the easy way, just so that it is up there. But I would like them to have stop and pause functionality in it. What needs to be done, can you provide some tutorial or something that will better help me understand what I need to do.

Thanks

http://www.apple.com/quicktime/tutorials/embed.html

Nevermind, not as hard as I had feared. (used to looking at the Apple site which has alot of weird hashes or something :\) :) Just an Embed tag. The users will get the controls anyway if they just choose to view the file via a link, but this way it will appear on the webpage. :)
