3D scene tools

The big team players in game creation seem to use 3D studio, I have 3DFX, Extreme 3D, Truespace v1 and v3/SE, all from magazines. Does anyone know of any good tutorials for game scenes or can anyone suggest any good budget applications (budget compared to 3D studio) that are worth purchasing?

Hm I'm really not sure, but 3D studio is such a cool program, that I would try to get a old version, I really doesn't have to be 2.5 or even 3, so old ones do a good job, too. (if you are into modelling) There is also some program called reflections, it has a new name now, but the old versions are cheaper. (150$ I guess)
