about spoolsv.exe
When I started up today, pc was really slow. and I have not much processes running in the background.
I checked taskbar and there it goes, memory was eaten up by spoolsv.exe process... what is this one for? Right now I killed it... is it caused by any virus? or spyware? :'(

Re: about spoolsv.exe
spoolsv.exe is the windows printer spooler - it is in charge of maintaining the job queues for each printer and doing the program<->printer communication.

Re: about spoolsv.exe
If you don't have a fax/printer, then you could prolly get away with stopping the printer service.

Re: about spoolsv.exe
Just a few days ago I had a spyware that run a service spoolsvs.exe (or similar, very similar name).
I tried System Mechanic and it (most probably)removed it. I guess the trial version will work.
Same time I was attacked by a keylogger too. SysMech couldn't delete it, so I had to delete it from 'true DOS mode' (my filesystem is FAT32).
So I'm not 100% sure that it was SystemMechanic who cured my system. May be the keylogger and the spoolsvs.exe was part of same paracite ?
