Ion Gunner

Ion Gunner is (will be) a very interactive text-based single-player RPG. My ultimate goal is to have at least as much detail for interface as modern visual-based RPG's, but leave it to the user to create what the scenario, characters, items, weapon effects, etc. look like. The story goes somewhat like this (still open for possible change, don't think this is permanent):

The year is 2158. The Russian Empire launched a nuclear strike on the United States of America eighteen years ago, heavily crippling its' production capabilities. However, the Russian Empire underestimated the response time of the U.S.A. and its' allies, and was soon virtually flattened by weapons of mass destruction.

Several of Russia's allies, while not in possession of nuclear arms or long-range weapons, launched what they had into the European states, wreaking havoc on their economy. Shortly after that, the states got together and decided it would be in their best interest to unite the entire area, and the European National Republic was born.

The far-eastern countries are now deadlands. The radiation there is not severe enough to be a threat to the rest of the world, but is intense enough to prevent it from being reinhabited. For the time being, the world is at relative peace. There are still occasional uprisings, but almost everyone is busy rebuilding their economies, thus not paying much attention to what is happening on a global scale.

You are about to take on the role of a person born just a few years before the attacks. You were too young then to remember for yourself what happened, but you have done research for yourself as to what happened. You are just an ordinary citizen, but if you play your cards right, you could turn in to someone who could lead the world into global unity... or destroy it. The choice is yours.
Right now, I'm still mostly building the stats of the game, locations, areas, weapons, yadda yadda yadda. This may potentially be one of the hardest parts of this whole venture, so any ideas are more than welcome. Chances are, most serious ideas will be used in the final release.

Feel free to offer anything you think would be nice to see in a game. Weapons, items, cities, things you can do.. Anything is fair game at this point.
