I've just tested a site I've built that has javascript content. The page is opened in a window using...

window.open("index.htm", "windowView", "width=740,left=112,top=150,height=440,toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no,status=no,menubar=no,scr ollbars=no,resizable=no");

However, the window still has a status bar and is resizable. Why has Firefox ignored these commands? Also, some of my <div> containers are in a different place to where they are when viewed in IE5. Is the solution to detect the browser and adjust the position accordingly using code when the page loads?

Thanks.

Don't know the answert to the window.open... but for the other problem:
The solution is to make it work in Firefox, which is *compliant* to the (X)HTML standards. Once you have it right in Fx, then *break* it to work in IE. IF you break it right, it'll work in both browsers just fine.

But it needs to be up to standards first.

It also depends upon firefox settings. For example, I've set firefox to not allow for the hiding of status bars.
