Re-install problem
I'm working on a friends computer and I'm trying to re-install WinXP on it but it keeps telling me that it can't read the D: drive. I have a RAM drive running and without the RAM drive, it just says that the computer doesn't have an OS. W T F is wrong here?

Re: Re-install problem
It sounds like you booted off a Windows 9X boot disk. Did you try booting off the windows XP Cd?? If you can boot off the CD, you won't need the Windows 9X boot diskette. The CD should allow you to format or attempt to do a repair of the Windows XP system files. BTW, can you read from the C: drive, if the hard drive is messed up you might also get this message
