How many times have you watched the world walk by
As you sit outside, so humiliated you want to die
Asking for their change so you can buy yourself some food
You're just another kid that they talk about in the news
Politicians pledging all this money and support
Never seen a dime come out of that fraudulent report
It's just not enough, times are tough and things are getting worse
They tell me to get a job, but of course I tried that first
It's not that we're lazy it's that people won't employ us
We would love to work but employers just will not trust us
So you see it's a paradox, we may never have any luck
Just continue to be beaten up and harassed by rookie cops
When will it stop? My friends are getting shot
For all the money they owe for all the drugs that they had bought
Cuz with no where else to turn to, most of them turn to drugs
It's a crying shame but y'all don't know this pain
Were we all destined to live our whole lives in vain?
Now some of us miss our moms and some of us miss our dads
But for some both parents are dead and they couldn't be more glad
But either way were sad, this is not the life we wish we had
Like all I wanted was for my family to get along
But instead we're all apart; things could not have gone more wrong
Now I'm on the street, staving off defeat, must go on, must strong
Can't keep it up for long, I'm sure no one would notice if one homeless kid was gone...
