Site Down
I looked around saw no one else mention this, so I'm wondering if it was just me, but at 1:30 EST, I could no longer connect to VBF, and it was that way up until just a while ago (I tried on and off until 3:30)
Was just me?

Re: Site Down
It must have been you, because I've been browsing VBF all day long today without any problems.

Re: Site Down
I got a database error around that time, but things were fine 20 seconds later.

Thank you for that. At least I'm not totally out of it, although it was down for me for over 2 hours. Not just 20 seconds, but if no one else experienced any difficulties, then it has to be something on my end.
The odd thing is that I could get to any site on the web I wanted to go to except VBF.
This is going to be fun to investigate.

No Hack - you're not alone - it's still pretty bad. I just had to click on submit button more than a dozen of times until reply was actually submited. I'm tired of reporting this any longer.

Re: Site Down
Jupitermedia is doing an extensive review of sites and site performance.
VBForums is one of the sites that is growing and thus straining. There is action occurring by both the system administrators and Jupitermedia developers to help rectify the pains of growing. This includes new servers being purchased (throwing hardware at it) as well as looking at code (tweaking database queries and such).
Feel free to keep reporting when you can't get to the site or you get a database error. This is all taken very seriously and it is what helps me push for the above actions for the site.
Brad!

Brad!
Maybe when we have the new servers the problems with subscription notifications will correct itself. I live in hope.

Re: Site Down
I have been having problems accessing the forums off and on now for about a week, usually very late at night, early morning hours

Re: Site Down
Just had a momentary glitch for a few minutes:
LouLog: DateTime 06/10/05 1221 EST
attempt to navigate from thread to forum...
Experience hostile network activity...
Forum Entry aborted...
LouLog: DateTime 06/10/05 1225 EST
due to previous attempt, where the network
subjected me to a humiliating defeat, i will
again try to gain access to the www.vbforums.com stronghold...
"Raise Browser!
Enter a setting for WWW.VBFORUMS.COM !
ENGAGE!!!
the familiar homepage dissolves...
and slowly, it emerges!!!
"We have Now entered the VBForums systems"
"Set a course for Forum FeedBack!"
whoHOO! I'm Back!
