Good old Steven King - One of the best authors around - Have you ever read the novel?

Oct 20th, 2000, 01:26 PM
you're messed up....
the excorcist is the SCARIEST movie EVER!!!

Oct 20th, 2000, 01:29 PM
I only saw the movie. Is the novel even more scary?

Pet Semetary is the scariest movie Dennis! I umm...never saw the Exorcist.

Oct 20th, 2000, 02:32 PM
If you haven't seen the excorcist, you can't say scheiße about the scariest movie.......

pet semetary is a mediocre scary movie....

it got my heart beating a little fast, but I didn't have to cover my face through the whole movie... I did with excorcist....

you HAVE to see excorcist....

I wanna see the new one, with new scenes...

Oct 20th, 2000, 06:54 PM
I heard the one with the new scenes is really gross.

Perhaps I should see that one. It's kind of like a comedy/scary movie, ain't it?

no, the excorcist is just a horror movie. There is no comedy whatsoever. It is on of the best horror movies I have seen yet.

Oct 20th, 2000, 08:27 PM
What's it about?

A devil possesing over someones/peoples soul(s)?

Oct 21st, 2000, 01:46 AM
No I have not read the novel - I have it but have not got around to reading it. - I just think all his movies are excellent epecialy "Sometimes they come back", "Misery" and "IT" :).

Oooooh. is IT the one about the murderous clown?

That one is not very scary.... 'till you think about it....

the puddles of blood, that are seen only by the ones who witnessed the clown...
all the other halucinations....

the thought that the clown could be everywhere, and anywhere....

the end of it is the scary part....

the beginning isn't that scary.... the kid gets killed.... but the end is kinda freaky....

thats another must-see movie.....

but the excorcist is sooooo ****ing scary....

it's about this girl that has been possessed by a demon....

these neighbor people try to help the priest through the whole movie...

and wait till you see what happens to them at the end of the movie.....

BTW, it is soooo gross, in the excorcist, her head spins around, and she pukes up this nasty white stuff... its like she is foaming at the mouth(like a rabid dog)...

that is one Hella-scary movie!!!!!

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

I'm sorry, but IMHO I think that Steven King's best film is "The Shawshank Redemption".

Very good movie.. Not scary, but good storyline.

That was written by Stephen King?!? I never knew that. The Shawshank Redemtion certainly is an excellent movie, I have to agree with you, very good storyline.

I don't really watch proper horror movies much, except for stuff like Hellraiser (I have all 4 on video), Evil Dead, Braindead and stuff like that, but they're not really your classic horror are they? Oh yeah and I'd like to see Texas Chainsaw Massacre, that's gonna be on telly soon I think :)

yea, it surprised me too. I never knew Steven King could write that good.. Hahahaha

The Exorcist is one of the best comedies I have seen.

One movie that gave me the shits is "Candyman" - real brown trousers stuff!!!

Oct 21st, 2000, 05:56 PM
I have been over-exagerating a little bit....
I haven't seen excorcist since I was 7... but I have seen a few clips in the past year... still freaky...

candyman wasn't very scary.... but it was pretty ****in discusting...

when he opened up and all those bugs flew out... ew....

nightmare on elm street was kinda freaky too... because freddy "cougar" (it's amazing how many people actually say this) kills you in your dreams.

Isn't it Crooger or Crouger? Or something like that?
That was on last night. It is kind of stupid.
I mean, you can sometimes control your dreams, well, I can usually.
And when you die in your dreams, you usually become the camera and just watch someone else doing stuff and its a blurred and stuff until you wake up into the real world.

[/quote]

Have you ever had a dream..like maybe a day dream where something, like a lamp or any object, is about to fall over, and before it hits the ground, you wake up really quick, and put your hand out to grab it, but nothing's there.

Well, I heard that if it falls and hits the ground, you really die. But it's almost impossible to stay asleep and let the lamp (or object) fall because it will kill you. It's a natural reaction to wake up and try and catch it.

That sh*t is pretty damn funny, when you think about it.
When your sleeping in a car (in the front seat) and mom (or someone is driving) and you put your hand out to catch something and wake up really quick to catch it. You must look purdy damn stupid! ( lol  )

Oct 21st, 2000, 06:25 PM
I don't see HOW THE **** you can die from falling from a building in the dream...

but I heard that too.....

do you stop breathing because you think that you're dead in the dream?

it's screwed up......

Yeah I've heard that too but frankly it's bollocks =] I think I've done it myself, I vaguely remember doing something like that and thinking 'Oh I'm not dead then' =D

HOLY CRAP PET CEMETARY IS SCARY AS HELL!!!!!! I watched it in 5th grade (im a freshman in high school now) AND I WAS ABOUT TO PISS MY PANTS!!!!!! Even the mothers flashback about her mother freaked me out! she was all greenish blue!!! And the kid had the letter opener....WHY THE HELL DID HE BRING HIS DEAD WIFE TO THE CEMETARY!!!!!!!!!!! MORON!!!!!!!

Damn, I gotta see the new exorcist, never even saw the first one...

Oct 21st, 2000, 06:48 PM
Something to do with the brain waves, perhaps?
Or nervous system?

And thanks for agreeing with me Steve. That was the scariest thing ever! The part that scared me the most was her having flashback about her...I think it was her sister. All green and ugly looking. Ga....wd damn~!

I can't watch it alone, I just get so fricken scared, I usually close my eyes when they show the sister, it scares the hell out of me.

And the reason he brought his wife back was because he thought she would be good. Like it failed for the child and made it evil, but since his wife was good, he thought it would work on making her good when she came back.

It was a pretty ****ed up movie though. Hard to understand, you have to watch it a few times.

But Pet Semetary Two was not scary. It was funny as hell. Especially when he's eating the mashed potatoes, makes a mess of himself. Only scary part of that was when the kid was dreaming and he kind of woke up in his dream to see the mother rocking in the chair, but with the dog's head, or something like that.

And sad part was when the dog had eaten the little kittens :(.

For the exorcist, the only part I saw was her puking up, it was gross as hell! I saw the making of it and they used this..tube thing that shot up stuff and it was like buried in her neck with makeup to cover it or something. But it looked real.

The gross stuff today, where do people come up with these things?

I never saw pet cemetary 2, I had a hockey game that halloween :(

P.S. I think you're right, it was the sister.

I don't recognize any of this **** you guys are talking about... which one did I see?

it was about this overweight kid, with a mean dad, he was a cop.

and the kid had a dog,
the dog died, then the kid and a friend of his burried the dog in a certain place,
then after the dog is "alive" "again", the dad/cop goes and starts beeting the piss out of his step son(overweight kid) because he cought them in the woods on holloween(and the kid was grounded BTW), then the dog kills the guy, they didn't show this, but the kids burried the guy in the same place they burried the dog...

then etc. etc. etc. this kid tries to beat up the overwieght kids friend,
he took the kids bike, and is hand-pedeling it and moving the rear tire close to the kids face,
then the "alive" cop/dad/person/thing tells his step-sons friend to leave,
then the cop person thing takes the bully's dirtbike thing and does the same thing(moves rear tire close to head) and he kills him(scarf gets stuck in tire, etc..)

Ok, that should be eenough detail for any of you idiots.. eermm I mean people, to tell me which one I saw(if you saw both)

I don't remember anything about a rocking chair, or flashbacks...

That was #2, in the first one the father was a doctor, he had a daughter and a baby son (the son came back to kill everyone)

Shawshank Redemption is DEFINITELY his best. Green Mile comes in a close second. Neither one a horror film but both rather mystical if you think about it!
