The Problem:
I have several PC's with a Shared Folder which contains an Access Database that 40 to 50 users connect to. On occasions one of the PC's doesn't shut down correctly and this leaves an open connection to the database, because of this the database is unable to compact.
Whats needed:
A way of disconnecting the user automatically from the database without removing the sharing of the folder (this would create more problems with permissions etc.). Net Watch displays the users connected and allows you to disconnect them, a similar API would be extremely useful.
The PC's that the Database's are held on are Win98, Win2k Server & Win03 Server. Both Client and Sever Programs are VB6.
Thanks Lee P
