Job Title: Senior Application Developer

Job Description:

The candidate will play a key role in developing intranet applications for HCA Patient Account Services. This challenging and exciting position involves actively participating in major component analysis, design, architecture, development, review, testing, and deployment of web-based applications. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly energetic, willing to learn new technologies and enjoys working as part of a dynamic team. This person must be able to work closely with business owners at various levels with the organization individual developers, application analysts, and in fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:
• Develop, support, and maintain database and web applications that support revenue cycle operations
• Identifies and documents technical requirements by working with business users.
• Provides development timeline and tasks and follows development project plan (if applicable).
• Develops prototypes/models and performs source system analysis (if applicable).
• Develops database and web components that comply with technical requirements and development standards.
• Develops and executes application unit testing plans.
• Facilitates system and user acceptance testing.
• Creates and maintains application documentation.
• Analyzes and executes change requests and enhancements.
• Resolves application issues.
• Develops appropriate application controls to mitigate operational and financial risks.
• Act as a liaison between Application Development and PAS business users.
• Actively participates in joint application design (JAD) sessions.
• Provides technical guidance to business users.
• Devises technical solutions to promote business activities.
• Mentors and provides guidance to Application Developer(s) by fostering best demonstrated development practices.
• Assists Application Developer by fostering best demonstrated development practices.
• Assists in the transition of classic ASP development to .Net development

Must Have:
• 5+ years of software development
• 4+ years of web application development in ASP and ASP.Net
• 4+ years of application development in Visual Basic 6 and Visual Basic.Net
• Strong .Net experience
• 4+ years of experience in SQL Server 2000. DBA experience is a plus.
• 4+ years of IIS system administration
• Excellent communication and written skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related discipline

• Experience in the healthcare industry
• Experience with Business Objects
• Experience with Macromedia Fireworks
