I hope someone important see's this

I myself and lots of others have been guilty of doing this, but repeat posting when a solution is already on the forums can be a huge waste of time.

Could we not have a sticky thread with popular questions. This would be a great idea because it would allow users to find quick solutions, and then if the user needed further advise they could ask in the normal manner.

This FAQ could also be applied to other forums.

Any ideas

when a solution is already on the forums

But is that not the answer?

If a solution is already on the forums then using the search facility will find it.

We all know that many people dont use the search facilty as a first option. It has worked in other forums.

I have tried to search before in an urgent situation and i couldnt find the answer i wanted.

Im not trying to say i dont know how to search, i just thought it would help to have one thread in which the most basic and popular questions are linked from.

On that note it would be helpful for the new user, to both VB and the forums.

I understand what you are saying and it could be a good idea if someone were to put an faq together...

However, I think though that a user who does not use the search facility is also highly unlikely to look in an faq either and will still post regardless.

Don't let me put you off though :D

We are in the process of making an FAQ :)

When we make it public, will be grateful if you could let us know what is "missing" from it in terms of Frequently Asked Questions, and preferably good answers to them from the forum too!

Nice one Si, well at least im not the only one thinking about it.

I do however realise it would be a big mission, but despite all of this i think there is only one way to find out whether it will work, and that is to put it into place.
