    Problem... don't know...

... where this question falls under... to me yep guess and check...

    well here goes...

I took a large wooden cube and painted two of its faces red, two of its faces blue and the two remaning faces blue.

Then I cut up the cube into lots of identically sized smaller cubes and gave them to my niece to play with.

First she counted all the small cubes out loud "One, two three...". The she counted the number of the small cubes which had both at least one red face and at least one white face. Then she counted the number of small cubes which had at least one red face and at least one blue face but no white faces.

These two last answers were different but one was the reverse of the other.

How many of the small cubes have at least one white face but no red faces and no blue faces?

the small cubes must be a cubed number... well, i am stuck with two bits that i generally thought about but would the way of coloring the cube affect the results? and what does 'reverse' mean?

    Thank you

(Typo here -> I suppose the two remaining faces were painted white...)

Just for clarification, are each two same coloured faces supposed to be opposite or not necessarily?

sadly... the question does not state how the colours are arranged... so its a bummer...

it's really annoying... telling you the absolute minimal information... but that is all the question states...

Well, probably this makes it more difficult i.e. challenging. Maybe it's too easy if they tell you...
