Lately i have had not one, but a couple of people asking me delphi questions. Seems to be getting more popular, the worse thing is that i miss the posts and Hack usually lets me know about the thread the person made. Its wasting his time, and message space.
All we ask for is a Delphi forum, sure it isnt the most popular, but seeming as this is one of the biggest VB forums around, its popularity will grow due to lack of Delphi forums out there.
So, one forum is all we ask, plus i get to be a mod and get free booze

Isn't there only 3-4 Delphi developers on this board?

As a computer science lecturer said to me once "Delphi is dying".

I doubt there is enough traffic for a Dlephi forum, but I will suggest to the admins that it might be a good idea to have a forum added under the title "Other Programming"

Delphi should be allowed to die a dignified death.

Didn't I have a second reply in this thread? Usually, new forums are created because theres serious demand for one, not just one very loud member who seems to bring the issue up once a month. ;)

Well, just because you dont use Delphi doesnt mean you have to be so negative about it. If this was a Delphi forum catering for C++, HTML, Java etc im sure YOU would request for a VB forum!
Like i say, its fair enough that you dont use Delphi, but dont disrespect a product which you probably have never tried. Who know, Visual Basic Turbo.Net 2009 may be released, you are one of a select few users who program in it, would you like a forum for that? YES!

I'm not knocking the language, just the fact that very few people use the language here and the fact that the forum lineup is already larger than it probably should be are reasons to try and avoid adding another forum (its just going to sit there empy anyway). Other Programming sounds like a good idea though. :)

I hear what you say, but this site must get a lot of traffic from guests, and i bet you 15% of people will be looking for a Delphi forum. For you see having looked myself for months for a Delphi forum, there isnt one! Instead of making a Delphi forum, make a Delphi/Kylix & Codebank forum. That way you can ask/answer Delphi or kylix questions, and add snippets (ive already included over 20 Delphi snippets within the last 2 months)

Maybe there just isn't all that many Delphi programmers? I think 15% is far too much, maybe not even 0.015% of the visitors come to look for a Delphi forum when the name of the forum is VB Forums.

Im sure it would spread easy by word of mouth. Before i found this forum i thought it was strictly VB only (site name). I didnt know there was about 10 other languages in there too. And do you think people thought there would be a ASM forum on this site? no. Which in my opinion is less popular than Delphi

Except that a VB programmer is more likely to use assembly than Delphi.... ;)

Actually a C++ programmer is more likely :)

I don't disagree with that at all, but this is a VB forum, so I commented from that perspective ;)
