There wasn't a single day since the upgrade without any problem(s).
What's going on, what is the difference ? What's the point to do upgrades if everybody's suffering ??? I don't get it.

Obviously you must be suffering but I haven't heard from anyone else.

That's because the site was sooo slow, I dared not complain, because everytime Ithought about it, I kept getting "Page cannot be displayed" errors.... kinda hard to post about a problem when you can't get the site going in the first place.... I ended up logging out and getting a cup of coffee..... things got batter later.

If there were issues with accessing other sites I wouldn't even mention it but it is ONLY VBF that may or may not be accesible (just like today - at least a dozen of times I couldn't open any page at all). Some general error message may (but not always) eb presented stating that there is some sort of problem with database ...
Also, kim that I'm using either T1 or the fastest cable in the states which sometimes feels even faster then T1.
So, you try telling me that I am the only one that exprerience these sort of problems ???
It doesn't sound right, Martin. Sorry.

That exactly how I feel about it but decided to post it today because it's getting rediculous, really.

We're working on speeding up all the forums. (Although this one seems quite fast at the moment.) Might take a little time but we plan to try some things that should improve performance.

RhinoBull

I hope it (performance) will improve - it's been awhile already and so far only promises ...

BTW, why is your reps disabled ??? I wish I can disable mine as well - cannot express how much I hate it.

Beats me, I never bother about em. Brad might be better able to answer that.

Ditto. Usually when its sloooow I just cant bear to take the time to post about it. I'll wait it out and actually do a little work.

What upgrade are you guys talking about? Has something been upgraded today? And the speed's totally fine here.

No, the one a few months ago. I got a few database errors today, for the first time. I don't like the speed of searches, but haven't bothered complaining. I just use a new tab and come back to it.

It has been getting slower and slower since m original post. Must be doing something to the site. Hope it helps.

I kept getting "Page cannot be displayed" errors.... TgI was getting those for nearly the entire day yesterday. I just kept hitting F5 and it eventually refreshed itself back to the forum page.

On my side, everything works ok, except the search. Search takes about 1-2 minutes to complete (load the results list).

If the speed seems to drop drastically all of a sudden, the likelihood is that the site got hit by a bot. We've seen em open 250 connections at one time.

I've had no issues with speed. Your comments are the first I've heard in a while. If the site is slow, or if you are getting time out messages, then post in this forum (Feedback). The mods will make sure I see this and I will make sure the Jupitermedia admins see it.

If I'm not seeing a speed issue (which I haven't in quite a while) and if nobody is mentioning it, then I am not aware that there is even an issue.....

Right now I hear two people saying they have speed issues. Anyone else want to chime in?

Brad!

Just to note, my problem is recent. Not since the update.

soemtimes the forums are fast, others slow...And yes, I have gotten the page cannot be displayed error quite frequently

Then it could be bot activity. It's greasy fast for me right now.

It's been slow since I posted last night. It's really getting ridiculous. Like a 5 second delay before anything happens!

- ии -Actually, I get that almost every morning for a couple of minutes, and then it is fine for the rest of the day. I'm not sure, geographically speaking, from where this site is actually run, so I just figured I kept hitting it at a bad time.

It happened to me somewhere around 6:30 AM -> 7:00 AM EST.

It happends every day (to me) at random time but most often during the afternoon hours while replying to some thread, so by the time I get back to the thread (after timeout or db error) to repost something - there could be few answers already posted ... Sometimes it happends while browsing forums only.
It really is very annoying.

It happends every day (to me) at random time but most often during the afternoon hoursI find this piece of information fascinating because Rhino and I are in the same time zone (EST), and I rarely have problems in the afternoon, but, as I said, almost always in the early morning.

"the afternoon hours" for today were (and sort of still are) since about 3PM till now. And for about 10 minutes (somewhat between 4PM and 4:25PM) it was completely dead.

I'm going to see if I can get Joe to coordinate this information with the systems guys to see if anything is happening during those time periods on our side.

Perhaps Statistics can be extracted in terms of how many people are connected here per minute over a 24 hour period? It'd certainly show any unusual die offs during these periods.

I got one about 3.5 hours ago, which went away as quickly as it came. I switched to www.vbforums.com and logged in again, but it worked fine.
